Eames LCW Chair by Vitra

The graceful LCW chairs (Lounge Chair Wood) in the Plywood Group resulted from Charles and Ray Eames' experiments with moulding plywood into complex shapes that conformed to the contours of the human body.
The chairs have matured into classics with an appearance that still looks contemporary today.

Available in Natural Ash, Black Ash or Black-pigmented Walnut.
Also available with a hide cover, as was the case when it was launched in 1946.

Materials
Back/seat: moulded plywood with face veneer in ash or walnut.
Upholstered versions: thin foam padding, covered in calfskin hide (LCW Calf‘s Skin) or Nero Leather.
Base: moulded plywood with same face veneer as the back and seat. Seat and backrest attached to the base with shock mounts (bonded rubber and metal connectors).
